3 Month Contractor: Copywriter, BirchboxMan & Birchbox Digital
60% BirchboxMan, 40% Birchbox Digital
Reports to the Lead Copy Editor, Creative and the Senior Marketing Manager to draft crystal-clear, educational, and engaging copy for all BirchboxMan print and digital assets, plus Birchbox digital assets. Writes copy and articles that maintain a consistent voice across all touchpoints–guiding the customer to discover products and trends while feeling welcome and excited to be part of the Birchbox and BirchboxMan community.
What to expect...
- Write and edit all grooming product pages (approx. 25 a month), as well as beauty product pages (approx. 40 a month)
- Meet with Birchbox and BirchboxMan merchandising teams to discuss products in upcoming launches and determine the most important details for product pages
- Attend all merchandising reviews
- Edit existing BirchboxMan product pages to be in line with current style guide tone and voice
- Write all month BAU Birchbox and BirchboxMan copy
- Write 2-4 articles every month
- Brainstorm fresh ideas, conceptualize the format of articles, interview experts, work alongside merch in product selection, and handle any necessary edits
- Research search volume and incorporate SEO best practices in order to increase organic search ranking
- Write all BirchboxMan digital promotional assets (e.g. shop+sub+acquisition emails, skylines, LOH skylines, campaigns, landing pages, partnerships, trims, in-app, push notifications, inserts)
- Write all unisex digital campaigns that deliver to both grooming and beauty audiences
- Write all low- to mid-level Birchbox digital campaigns
- Draft all Birchbox and BirchboxMan GWPs
- Work closely with CRM team to develop email best practices
- Write and finalize overall BirchboxMan brand messaging, monthly product card content ,and monthly experience assets
- Pitch and brainstorm ideas (monthly product card content and kit names, product card letter, etc.) during weekly and monthly brainstorm meetings
- Ideate, write, and finalize all monthly themes and monthly product cards
- Respond to all last-minute/urgent BirchboxMan copy requests made by cross-teams
- Write copy for all BirchboxMan paid social and display advertising
- Develop copy that messages the brand’s value proposition and incorporates the BirchboxMan voice to drive acquisition and shop sales
- Liaise with the performance marketing team to optimize and iterate on top performing copy
- Develop copy for all BirchboxMan partner initiatives
- Write and edit copy for BirchboxMan partner-branded landing pages, email, paid social, and organic social
- Research and develop editorial content as needed per partner requests
- Write and edit all BirchboxMan organic social media copy for Instagram, Facebook, and twitter
- Provide monthly insights on best performing copy and best practices
- Contribute to general Birchbox and BirchboxMan copy brainstorming and concepting campaigns.
Requirements:
- Must be able to come in to our Nomad offices
- 3-4+ years professional experience in grooming and/or beauty marketing
- Strong and efficient writing, editing, research, and copy editing skills
- Ability to brainstorm and come up with fresh ideas, sometimes on the fly
- Interest in grooming/beauty and ideas on how we can come up with new ways to speak to the customer where grooming/beauty is not a major priority, but wants to discover new products
- Passion for the role that copy and content can play in overall marketing strategy
- Should be a detail-oriented self-starter who knows how to prioritize and multitask
