ABOUT THE TEAM AND ROLE
theSkimm is hiring a full-time Editorial Assistant, Commerce, to support its growing commerce vertical. You'll assist editors and writers as well as create commerce (aka shopping/recommendation guides) for the vertical. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone with a background in writing who is familiar with and interested in e-commerce trends.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Manage evergreen content, keeping guides up to date for repromotion
• Coordinate sample requests for products for review
• Write and fact-check approximately two commerce guides per month
• Manage daily editorial calendar
• Manage data requests and pull analytics using our dashboards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 1-3 years of experience working in lifestyle digital media (either in entry-level roles or internships)
• Excellent writer with the ability to write in the voice of a character
• Someone with superior organization skills
• Familiarity with the e-commerce landscape and online shopping trends
• Passionate about theSkimm and its mission
• A self-starter and a team player

This is a full-time role with flexibility for remote work. While our employees are continuing to work remotely throughout the remainder of 2021, we are excited to return to HQ in New York, NY next year. Beginning in January 2022, the office will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and NY metro area employees will come together in person a minimum of 3 days per month. All other days are up to the discretion of the employee and they may go in as often as they'd like.
We will require vaccinations for anyone coming to our office. We are following CDC recommendations for any additional boosters, and will always follow CDC and NY state guidance on wearing masks in the office.
