The Editorial Grapher will work as part of the Graphing Team, which itself is part of the larger Amplify Math Curriculum Team. The Editorial Grapher's primary responsibilities are to review and edit the lessons and practices authored by the rest of the Graphing Team. The Editorial Grapher may also be the primary author of some Desmos activities. The Editorial Grapher will report to the Managing Editor, Digital Curriculum.
Responsibilities of the Editorial Grapher:

  • Review and edit Desmos activities authored by the rest of the Graphing Team.
  • Communicate best practices out to the rest of the Graphing Team through messaging, meetings, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Design Team when their input is necessary in decision-making.


The Editorial Grapher also shares the following responsibilities with the rest of the Graphing Team:

  • Adapt print-based lessons into digital lessons
  • Work with Curriculum Developers in ideating and then executing digital manipulatives
  • Work with Design team in integrating images into digital lessons
  • Tag lesson content with appropriate metadata, including activity titles and standards
  • Participate in workshops with Curriculum and Design teams


Basic Qualifications:

  • At least one year of authoring experience with Desmos Activity Builder and with the Desmos graphing calculator.
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or another quantitative field.
  • Comfort in the following mathematical domains:
    • Advanced algebra
    • Trigonometry
    • Calculus
    • Statistics
  • At least 5 years of face-to-face classroom teaching experience, preferably in Grades 6-12
  • Proficiency using digital teamwork tools, including spreadsheets and Google Drive


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of editorial experience with curriculum, either as part of a school district or publisher
