The Editorial Producer (Seasonal Special Project) is responsible for creating and managing content and maintaining MLB’s team sites. Editorial Producers work closely with executive editors, columnists and reporters to ensure that the sites provide users with the most relevant, informative and interesting content possible.

Responsibilities

• Edit and post content for use on team and partner websites
• Update the sites quickly and accurately during breaking news
• Write interesting headlines, captions, blurbs
• Select and crop photos and pair stories with relevant video
• Make judgments on story significance and arrange content into lead packages on the team site front pages
• Communicate with the rest of the editorial team to ensure that all content is accurately placed on the league site and other relevant sites

Qualifications

• Excellent copy-editing skills
• Must be available nights and weekends
• Experience with content management systems and web publishing
• Thorough knowledge of baseball
• Knowledge of social media and SEO
• Basic HTML and Photoshop skills
• Must work well under deadline and in fast-paced situations with multiple responsibilities
• Strong communication, presentation and organization skills
• Team player a must
