TheSkimm is looking for an experienced Executive Producer to lead the development and production of a new audio initiative and podcast offering. You'll be responsible for the journalism, original storytelling and voice of theSkimm in audio.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Hire, train, and manage a supporting audio team
• Help to develop a format, tone, and production schedule
• Work closely with the sales and marketing teams as new audio products go to market
• Train editorial producers and production staff on best-in-class audio practices
• Lead daily editorial pitch meetings
• Oversee audio production -- including budgets, staffing and creative
• Manage editorial partnerships with key distributors

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• 8+ yrs experience in audio storytelling with 3+ leading production on a successful podcast or news radio program
• Open to a flexible schedule -- this job will require working nights (including Sunday night)
• Previous experience on a live daily news show (podcast or news)
• Strong journalistic judgment with a specific eye for fact-checking standards
• Strong understanding of how recording, cutting tape, assembling, mixing, and audio publication works.
• Experience in a fast-paced newsroom, with an ability to anticipate and respond quickly to change
• Ability to communicate on an executive level while managing the details of multiple daily productions
