Overview
A Freelance Production Coordinator needed to help support the busy Production team of Vice News. The Production Coordinator will be very organized with strong verbal/written skills, tech savvy, and have the ability to multi-task and work within multiple deadlines. The Production Coordinator will have great time management skills; be highly motivated, a team-player, and able to handle a large workload, with great attention to detail.
Following is a list of expectations and qualifications for the job:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ability to locate and staff multiple crews, both domestically and internationally
- Ability to budget & actualize budgets
- Ability to manage invoices, petty cash, expense reports, and start paperwork
- Ability to research and book domestic and international travel
- Responsible for disseminating information to crew & staff
- Experience with releases, building call sheets, issuing carnets, production bibles, vendors and wrap binders
- Various tasks as requested by PM team
- Ability to proficiently use a camera a plus
- Basic knowledge of post production needs a plus
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Film and Arts or any of the related media fields required.
- 2+ to 3 years of experience in production management (office and set) at a well regarded network or cable network or digital production company (or equivalent)
- Ability to work late hours and weekends
- Strong business and professional ethics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of MAC computer systems and programs
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Ability to deal with changing priorities in a busy environment
- Must be detailed orientated and highly organized
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally as needed is required
