The Manager, Content Strategy will work with the Director of Social and Content Marketing to develop the vision, cadence, and depth of our content offerings across Diner, Restaurant and Driver, overseeing every step of the comms process from ideation and creation to distribution and conversion. Working closely with various stakeholders including brand marketing, B2B marketing, growth marketing corporate communications, the Manager, Content Strategy will be tasked with the overall quality and efficacy of content across paid and owned channels: social media, online video, CRM, blog, video, sponsored content. Success will be measured through increased brand preference, engagement, driving leads, with the ultimate goal of driving higher conversion across diner, restaurants and drivers. This role is critical in building our organic audience while working closely with paid media to ensure content is driving growth. The ideal candidate is a lifelong storyteller with excellent editorial instincts, possesses a creative knack for leveraging the specific vernacular of digital media to tell stories, is perennially curious about users’ changing and fragmented content consumption habits, and is comfortable operating in a large organization.
Some Challenges You’ll Tackle
- Craft compelling content that communicates the overall Grubhub and Seamless brand story effectively, with an emotional pull, credibility of messaging, and level of sophistication.
- Lead editorial team or partners to create written and visual content that can be featured both externally and internally and drives awareness and business performance.
- Help set and report on OKRs/Objectives and Key Results for content distributed through related properties.
- Conceptualize and socialize a strategy for achieving these OKRs, thinking of new strategic channels to test and then distill that strategy into action by building a daily, weekly and monthly comms calendar.
- Align content strategy with brand messaging + business strategy, looking for ways to increase revenue and capture greater leads.
- Work with paid team to ensure the effective, efficient distribution of content, and to gather learnings from campaign successes and failures.
- Benchmark our offerings against competitors as well unrelated but innovative digital content publishers to gather learnings and inform strategic decision making.
- Manage a network of vendors including individual contributors and agency resources.
You Should Have
- 6-8 years experience within a content marketing role working on both B2C and B2B brands is a must
- At least 1 year of people management experience
- Bachelor's degree required in related field
- A thought leader with proven success in developing and activating unique campaigns that have generated ROI
- Strong understanding of the social and digital landscape
- Proven experience in CRM
- Experience with WordPress and Google Analytics
- Basic understanding of SEO and keywords strategies
- Ability to manage large amounts of content and data while ensuring its accuracy across branded websites, databases, and reports
- Excellent grammar and written communication skills with an ability to adapt to various audiences
- Must be proactive in finding innovative solutions to problems
- Willingness to learn via independent research, i.e. online tutorials, forums, blog posts, etc.
- Experience creating content for the web and growing a social audience
- Ability to analyze and present content and social performance data
- Manage a network of vendors including individual contributors and agency resources.
