The Role

Known’s Media Science team uses advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics, and algorithms to plan and optimize advertising dollars.  We partner with our clients to translate their business goals into meaningful metrics, and buy media across all channels to drive those target outcomes.  We are looking for a Traditional Media Buyer to join the team and work alongside our digital buying team of data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive performance for our media campaigns and amaze our clients
  • Develop objectives, strategies, and recommendations for our clients’ traditional media campaigns
  • Build media plan decks for the channels you are responsible for
  • Negotiate buys with different vendors to ensure optimal rates 
  • Implement and optimize traditional media buying using data analytics
  • Day-to-day monitoring, management, optimization, and development of assigned campaigns
  • Building stories and slides for client reports
  • Developing new approaches to optimize KPIs and improve Known IP 

You Have

  • BS/BA degree from a well-regarded college or university
  • Strong working knowledge of the media landscape in Canada, specifically with regards to TV (national and spot) and OOH 
  • Experience using media planning and research tools
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in integrated traditional media planning and buying, specifically national linear TV.  Must also have experience in at least one other channel, with preference for Network Radio, Streaming Audio, or OOH
  • Understanding of how to bring insights & analytics into a media plan and a media buy
  • Superb communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with high attention to detail
  • Proactive individual who can work independently as well as with a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to think strategically about complex problems
  • Experience effectively and efficiently negotiating media buys
  • Experience working directly with clients is a plus
  • Experience with predictive analytics / data science is a plus
