Multimedia Assistant, Illustration
The Role
The Multimedia Editorial Assistant, will source, edit and create images, working closely with freelancers and staff members on the Content Team to beautify the stories we run each week. You will lead the charge in organizing, simplifying and innovating our multimedia offerings including (but not limited to): science graphics, statistical charts, fiction illustrations, news interactives, historical timelines, infographics, informative videos and more.

You’ve got an eye for aesthetics. An imageless or poorly designed article experience would drive you crazy. You are a dogged researcher and can dig up any image. Beyond that, you have a solid understanding of how rights and permissions work with public domain art and photos, maximizing for what’s available for free. You are organized and can think of ways to simplify processes so as not to redo work. You’ve got a future-thinking mindset and are always trying to think of new and creative ways to display information.
