OVERVIEW:

VICE is seeking a Post Production Support Technician with a minimum 3 years of experience supporting video post-production technical and operations infrastructures. Extensive knowledge and experience with production and post-production workflows, as well as strong interpersonal skills for end-user support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide both first and second line support including Video Edit, Graphics and Audio edit; diagnose and resolve issues with all aspects of the post production and storage environments.
  • Effectively document problems and their resolutions.
  • Work with the team to plan upgrades for all Post Production systems, advising on systems enhancements and workflow development as required.
  • Assist other VICE IT staff with technical upgrades and new installations, in conjunction with 3rd party integrators and other third party providers.
  • Work with the IT team to to ensure desktop and broadcast infrastructure work seamlessly together.
  • Work with key manufacturers and support vendors to achieve an appropriate level of service for the VICE lines of business.
  • Follow the agreed change control process for all planned technology changes making sure that all work is documented and any changes updated on the relevant wiring/ cable schedules, workflow drawings and project documentation.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance to ensure maximum system availability whilst managing and documenting the maintenance cycle

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Experience with industry standard media asset management platforms
  • Education to Degree level in a related Electronic Engineering/Computer Science field, followed by selective theory & practical training courses during employment.
  • Alternatively educated to A level standard with greater than 3 years demonstrable track record in broadcast support
  • They will be technically competent across a wide range of broadcast related areas.
  • The post holder should have been working in the TV industry for at least 3 years with a major broadcaster or post production facility and will have worked previously in a post production support role.
  • Background in quality control and network delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience in post production software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), prosumer and enterprise transcoding solutions (Media Encoder, Compressor, Telestream Vantage, SAM Alchemist XF), graphics (Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya, Cinema 4D, VizRT) and audio (Avid ProTools)
  • Able to prioritize tasks at their own discretion
  • Familiarity with any of the following vendors considered a plus:
    • PrimeStream - FORK, Vantage, Baton, BlackMagic, Harmonic, Apple Certified, Casper, Brocade
