BuzzFeed is seeking an experienced New York-based Producer with strong editorial judgement for an upcoming daily show on Snapchat. Applicants should have knowledge of the Snapchat landscape and existing programming. Successful candidates also have experience scripting for short form or social/digital shows, delivering compelling visual content and executing on a daily show. The ideal producer has a strong command of the entertainment/news/media landscape, the BuzzFeed brand, social media, and trending stories, particularly stories that resonate with Gen Z. Candidates must be detail-oriented, creative thinkers and leaders with an ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The show is daily Monday-Friday. You will report to the senior producer and accompanied by an editor and a motion graphics designer.

Responsibilities include:

• Ideating on creative ways to tell stories via Snap tools and graphics
• Selecting 5-10 daily stories to turn into short, hyper-engaging segments.
• Help in coordinating shoots
• Write scripts based on daily events and trending stories.
• Working closely with the host on selecting stories and scripting for their voice.
• Following tight timelines and ensuring team meets deadlines for smooth production.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of production experience, ideally for a digital/social show.
• Strong editorial judgement
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and handle high pressure news/production environments
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and stay organized in a quick turnaround production period
• Ability to shoot and/or knowledge of audio recording a plus
