The Role

The Proposal Writer is responsible for writing compelling RFPs that win bids and approvals, and will collaborate with the RFP Coordinator to update and maintain an RFP response content repository that allows for more efficiently executed RFPs. You’ll analyze RFP documents to understand response strategy, and will develop expertise in Newsela’s product suite and offerings to successfully position our company to the market. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of Newsela as the products expand and improve.

Why You’ll Love This Role

Your work will help position Newsela as a market leader in the world of EdTech. You will work cross-functionally in order to develop proposals that resonate with the market and be part of a small team that will be creating core systems for how Newsela's product roadmap is informed by customer needs. Your work will directly impact our ability to scale Newsela’s reach, bring our products to more educators and students, and enable accessible, engaging learning that empowers students. In addition to helping our business grow, you will get to work with an enthusiastic, cross-functional team to catapult Newsela’s growth as we scale our national Sales organization.

Why We’ll Love You

With 1+ years of experience in proposal writing and development, you experienced in managing a full proposal lifecycle (sourcing, strategy development, proposal management, submission, and post-submission). You’re an outstanding written communicator, and can successfully contribute to multiple simultaneous proposal projects while working cross-functionally to inform proposal responses. You also have experience working in Adobe and G-Suite. While not required, direct experience with RFP responses to SLED markets or general experience in K12 education classroom or EdTech is a huge plus. A critical component of this role will be representing Newsela's solutions in ways that resonate with an audience that thinks in terms of pedagogy, and therefore you’ll have to be able to quickly speak this language.
