Senior Content Strategist
Verywell is seeking a creative, organized, and passionate Senior Content Strategist to help innovate and produce editorial and branded content on Verywell Health, Verywell Fit, Verywell Family, and Verywell Mind.
This is your chance to be part of a spirited and collaborative group. You’ll work closely with Verywell’s marketing, revenue, research, editorial, product, and production teams throughout the pre and post-sale process, shaping and executing original content visions that address clients’ business objectives and help our users in their moments of need.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of what makes credible, high-quality digital content and the ability to translate big-picture business needs into achievable and measurable results. This position reports to the Director of Editorial Solutions.
About Your Contributions:
- Lead Branded Content Ideation: Your goal is to create smart, strategic ideas for Verywell’s advertising partners. You’ll become an expert in all Verywell content and content products, attend brainstorms, ideate concepts, and deliver flawless write-ups to be integrated into final proposals. You’ll also manage a library of ideas that have been pitched to help with turnkey ideation and thought starters.
- Cultivate Cross-Team Partnerships: You’ll develop strong relationships with the sales team to become an expert on their business, act as a contact and lead for editorial and sales communication, and collaborate with the research, product, and digital production teams to inform and strengthen your pitches.
- Drive Sales Content Strategy: You’ll work closely with marketing and the brands’ editorial directors to forecast upcoming topics of interest, source editorial content, and communicate it to sellers.
- Partner with Production: You’ll communicate sold concepts to the digital production team, ensuring a flawless transition, with the opportunity to work with Verywell’s writers and editorial team to create content for the final execution when necessary.
- Provide Brand Awareness Support: You’ll assist with content creation for brand promotion plans with key media partners, LinkedIn support, award submissions, and other marketing initiatives as needed.
About You:
- 3+ years relevant experience at a digital publisher, with a focus in branded content. Experience with family and parenting-specific brands is a plus.
- Experience developing branded content concepts across multiple platforms: written, video, social, etc.
- You have excellent writing and editing skills and are an experienced storyteller. You can write engaging, lively headlines and blurbs while keeping brand voice in mind. Experience editing health content from freelance writers and understanding nuances around content credibility and accessibility is a plus.
- You are detail-oriented and deadline-focused.
- You are passionate about creating user-first content experiences, have a keen sense of user needs, and have an understanding of SEO and what works on the web.
- You are an excellent communicator who remains poised under pressure, feels comfortable representing your ideas and the brand on client calls, and can tailor your messages for different audiences.
- You are a true self-starter, providing proactive ideas, taking initiative, and advocating for top-notch user experiences.
