Description:

If you’re a writer and you feel like geeking out on fintech and personal finance, you should probably keep reading. We’re looking for someone who can dive into our product documentation, communicating the technicalities of our propriety financial planning software in accessible language for everyday users – an audience of 8,000 people, including financial advisors across the country. In the process, you’ll get to know the ins and outs of the engine that powers the growth of our company.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be working closely with UX and visual designers, product owners, financial advisors, and software engineers.

  • Edit, manage and maintain lengthy documents (50+ pages)
  • Create a documentation management system that accurately accommodates updates as the product evolves
  • Author technical product “how-to” guides
  • Publish product update announcements 

Additionally, as a member of the broader Design team, you’ll contribute to product copy efforts that are related to the algorithm, including the client-facing version of the financial plan. 

  • Write, maintain and update UI copy for multiple projects on varying timelines
  • Be able to present and champion your writing to your Design team colleagues
  • Help shape the Design team's strategy for each project
  • Be able to present on behalf of the design team, for any given project, to the design/product/engineering group
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for the expansion of your own work and of the copy discipline’s role within the company

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of technical writing experience (digital agency experience is a plus)
  • Experience in technical product writing
  • Experience in finance would be nice
  • Self-starter who can recognize and pursue opportunities
  • Comfortable in front of a room; confident in presenting work
  • Capacity for collaboration; capable of working independently
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
