ADP is hiring a Senior Technical Writer

 

We are looking for someone who has a vast amount of experience in technical product writing. This role will help align and define the writing standards, templates, and processes for the product team in alignment with the ADP knowledge team. This person will immerse themselves with the product teams to consume the information to be able to create accurate and engaging documentation.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

You will design, create, and deliver product documentation, manage projects, develop strong relationships with subject matter experts, and make sure that documentation deliverables meet our quality standards.

You are able to dig into what you're writing about so you understand not just how it works, but why it matters to the people using it; serving as the voice of our users when collaborating with scrum teams; figuring out the best way to serve our associates and clients along with gathering feedback for improvement.

You can independently write new documentation based on use cases, user stories, feature requirement documents, specifications, information from developers and product managers, and use of the product.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day in the life of a Senior Technical Writer at ADP.

  • You do not hesitate to proofread and edit documentation to ensure consistency of language and style, as well as correct application of templates
  • You are an expert communicator capable of researching complex technical information and creating engaging documentation and reference material for our customers, partners, internal audiences, and developers
  • You enjoy providing input on documentation design and implementation
  • You will meet with the scrum team for product release notes
  • You will partner with other teams such as Support, Training, and Client Services to understand and respond to internal and external documentation needs

A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills and experience to do the job. To be successful in this role, you'll have 5+ years of experience in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • You have proven experience writing product documentation, release information and guides, tutorials for enterprise business applications
  • You are self-directed, passionate about technology, produce high-quality documentation, and understand how your work contributes to the overall success of the product
  • You can handle multiple tasks, projects, and initiatives at the same time while also keeping your focus
  • Has experience making challenging, complex ideas, concepts, and tasks understandable and appealing to diverse audiences
