About the Role
Rent the Runway is seeking a Social Media Editor to join our growing Brand Marketing & Content team. Your mission is to help communicate our brand, products and services across social channels through original content strategies and executions to service and scale our social audience. 

This role reports directly to the (Sr) Social Media Manager, and will collaborate with our lean social team to execute on strategy. Day-to-day you will moderate social calendars, publish content across channels, write captions, optimize social posts, brief creative partners and teams and engage our community across channels Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and more.

What You’ll Do

  • Support daily content strategy, execution and insights across social channels
  • Manage daily social media calendars and publishing across channels
  • Copywriting and caption creation across all social channels 
  • Regularly report on our social trends, content performance and audience development insights
  • Bring our brand story to life with strategic social content that engages and grows our audience
  • Concept and execute social-first initiatives that help us meet our goals
  • Collaborate and brief internal creative teams to develop assets for social channels and projects
  • Collaborate with partner teams to develop social media extensions for campaigns
  • Partner with our Customer Experience team to handle timely responses, converse with followers, and track customer feedback through social listening
  • Implement organic social best practices, establishing benchmarks for success and delivering consistent reporting to internal teams providing learnings and opportunities 


About You

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1+ years experience running social media, digital or content strategy across multiple platforms for a fashion, retail or lifestyle brand
  • In-depth use, knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, social audiences and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios with creativity 
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with creative content production and development 
  • Familiar with fast-paced, tech-driven creative and marketing environments
  • Fluent in content production workflow, especially social planning, tracking and management
  • Highly collaborative self-starter, driven by creative excellence with a finely tuned aesthetic sense
  • Prior experience and/or passion for the fashion or rental industry is a plus 
  • Entrepreneurial and eager to come up with big ideas and execute them with an anything-is-possible attitude 
  • A self-starter and creative problem solver, who can juggle multiple things at once; you constantly have ideas for how to make a situation more efficient and successful, and run with it
