OVERVIEW

Broadly is looking for a staff writer to join our editorial team. The Broadly staff writer will be expected to pitch and write two to three original daily pieces for the site. This person should be well versed on topics that range from politics to feminism to pop culture and have an insatiable drive for finding unique ways to talk about issues that shape our lives and personal experiences. This is a fast-paced work environment; the ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high editorial standards is essential.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Pitch and write daily posts for Broadly across a variety of subjects.
  • Generate ideas for new columns and ongoing reporting projects.
  • Attend editorial meetings and pitch ideas.
  • This job will mainly consist of writing but may involve occasional editing tasks as well.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • 2+ years reporting experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience working for a major website, magazine, or newspaper
