Technical Editor
Have you ever wondered what happens inside the cloud?
Based in New York, DigitalOcean is a dynamic, high-growth technology company that serves a robust and passionate community of developers, teams, and businesses around the world. We believe that today’s entrepreneurs are changing the world through software. Our mission is to empower these entrepreneurs by bringing modern app development within reach for any developer, anywhere in the world.
We want people who are passionate about helping writers share their knowledge with our community.
The Technical Editing team raises awareness of DigitalOcean within the broader developer community by editing and publishing approachable, high-quality learning resources on a variety of DevOps, open source, and modern application development topics. All members of the team are united by a strong technical background, an interest in teaching and helping developers, and a passion for creating the most useful learning materials possible.
As a Technical Editor, you will act as a partner and coach to writers creating technical articles. These articles cover software development, managing Linux infrastructure and servers, and installing and configuring software. Working through our Write for DOnations program (do.co/w4do) and other initiatives, you will build relationships with external authors who want to get published on DigitalOcean and edit their work. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical writing or editing, a background in education, instruction, or mentoring, and a desire to work in a hands-on technical environment.
If you feel that you have the background and knowledge for this Technical Editor position, we’d love to talk to you and see where there’s a fit!
