The Role

The HuffPost team is looking for a creative editor with experience in digital video workflows. You will report to the Manager Editor, Video in this role.

This role's typical shifts take place during U.S. Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, and may occasionally involve evening or weekend work to cover large news events outside of those hours.

This position is in the WGA-E bargaining unit.

You Will

  • Handle the post-production of deadline-driven editorial video projects
  • Assemble edits and implement notes from producers and team leads, while ensuring video/image/sound quality, size and placement meet our standards.
  • Create smart, insightful content around news and news adjacent topics
  • Archive and organize footage
  • Maintain several ongoing projects at once
  • Coordinate timely delivery of videos, project files

You Have

  • 2+ years of experience editing web / digital content.
  • Experience with workflows for social media videos, along with experience with media ingesting and video engineering workflows.
  • Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Previous experience working in a production environment.
  • Understanding of visual storytelling and what makes content appealing on social platforms
  • Experience in a breaking news environment
  • Sample work to share with web viewing links.
