The Dotdash Food & Drink Group is seeking a can-do Video Producer with a passion for food and cooking videos. In this role you will develop, produce, and direct short TikTok tutorials, longer form YouTube hack videos, onsite hosted master classes, hand spans recipe videos, and much more. The Food & Drink Group Video Producer should be a creative force experienced with both high-volume production and food video for a digital publisher. You’ll have experience taking a series from concept to pilot and you can juggle all the logistics required to produce a volume of videos at once. It’s essential that you be immersed in food video and an obsessed watcher across all platforms. You also have the practical knowledge and experience to guide videos through the entire production lifecycle. You’ll be responsible for creative development of video ideas, overseeing production and post production, final asset delivery – and everything in between. The ideal producer has a contemporary sense of style, pacing, and aesthetics, can lead a crew on set, and has experience directing cooking talent and hosts. The Food & Drink Group Video Producer will work across all of our food and drink brands: The Spruce Eats, Simply Recipes, Serious Eats, and Liquor.com; on location, and in our newly opened kitchen studios in the Financial District. This is an exciting role with the chance for meaningful creative input and a chance to have ownership over a wide variety of formats and topics in the food and recipe space. The video team at Dotdash is fast-growing and our top candidate will be a strategic thinker with a can-do attitude who always finds a way to make it work.

An Insider's view of Dotdash Meredith

What projects are you most excited about?

Atomic design is in our DNA at Dotdash. We're striving to have the dev and design teams work closer together and use a single source of truth for how components are pieced together using predefined molecules and atoms. This is exciting and innovative work that is helping us scale at an incredible rate and deliver on our promise of fastest sites!

Brian

Manager, Front-End Development

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

We do quite a few things to encourage creativity like hackathons, design sprints, and "Unconferences". That said, I think the most meaningful thing we do is to encourage teams to be autonomous. Having control and ownership over their respective applications gives our team members the freedom to explore ideas to solve their own problems.
