We are looking for a creative, talented, team player to join our legal organization as Corporate Counsel. This is a unique opportunity to work on wide variety of exciting and challenging transactional matters in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You will assist our VP, Legal in handling all of the company’s day-to-day legal needs and will be responsible for a wide range of in-house legal functions, including providing advice on the various legal risks, business strategies and issues we face and negotiating a breadth of commercial contracts. You will bring exceptional business judgment and problem solving skills to your role, and have a track record of thriving in a dynamic team setting. Ideally you are coming from a technology or e-commerce company, or have worked for clients in one of these industries at a law firm.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of agreements, including studio partners, master services, licensing, professional services, marketing, technology, SaaS, vendor agreements, NDAs, website terms and other commercial contracts
• Working cross-functionally to identify risks and provide strategic, practical and creative legal and business advice, including with respect to studio relations, product development, marketing campaigns, privacy, technology, customer service, operations, compliance and other matters
• Helping to develop and improve internal procedures and policies, including template agreements, contract management, record retention
• Staying on top of, and educating colleagues about, industry best practices, trends and legal developments

Requirements:

• J.D. from top law school, NY state bar admission preferred
• 3-4 years experience in a large law firm or corporate legal department handling transactional matters
• Prior in-house experience a plus
• Experience in ecommerce and technology sectors preferred
