The Data Lakehouse Architect ensures the creation, expansion and sustaining of the Data Lakehouse, effectively supporting the storage, processing and integration of data for Brown & Brown’s National Pharmacy Team. As a subject matter expert on Data Lakehouse architecture this role provides technical leadership and guidance to the data development teams. The role will also ensure technical implementations align with standards and business goals, driving both innovation and operational excellence in data management.

Essential Duties and Functions: include the following.

  • Collaborate with IT teammates of other disciplines to create optimized data architecture solutions for cross functional development teams that meet the business requirements for data storage, processing, and analysis. Lead group-based efforts and decisions that involve significant complexity and scope spanning organizational functions and data use.
  • Be a liaison and partner to business stakeholders, explaining data concepts and applications that allow the business to understand and engage with the data teams and the architecture that provides business solutions.
  • Create architecture strategies and frameworks while defining and maintaining detailed standards.
  • Support the curation of and provide accessibility to external sourced master data within the Data Lakehouse.
  • Identify and provide resolutions to architecture issues including, but not limited to, compatibility, fit, and integration.
  • Create artifacts and objects used in the SDLC of the Data Lakehouse.
  • Be a key contributor to emerging data governance capabilities within the Data Delivery teams.
  • This position will include job duties that require risk designations for access to Electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) in the course of their job responsibilities.

  • Quality control— Is relentless in the pursuit of the Data Lakehouse presenting accurate and quality data prepared from a diverse range of data sources.
  • Adaptability—the individual is flexible, skilled and willing to completing a range of tasks or duties either assigned or situationally self-identified as beneficial or needed for the success of the Data Lakehouse team.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Detailed comprehension of Pharmacy claims data gained from 5+ years’ experience in an IT data team role with an applicable Pharmacy industry organization.
  • 8+ years in data architecture, designing and building data assets and products.
  • Expert knowledge of Data Lakehouse technical architecture concepts, infrastructure components and ELT process.
  • Extensive experience with known data modeling and ETL tools.
  • Proficient in the visual creation of complex data flow and process diagrams.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases, technologies.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Sciences related fields or equivalent experience in an enterprise organization.

Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies
  • Experience with Idera ER/Studio
  • Proficient with Azure DevOps for backlog management, source control as well as deployment builds and execution.
  • Worked in a Scrum and or Kanban based team
  • Comfortable using MS Teams, chat, channels, and integration with SharePoint for communications and collaboration
  • Prior experience working as a member of a remote team

Pay Range

100000 - 125000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
