Analytics Engineer
Dotdash is looking for an Analytics Engineer with a strong data analytics background to join the Data Operations team. The successful candidate will work closely with different business units across the organization and help provide analytics intelligence solutions. We are looking for someone who is passionate about data and can take ownership of building insightful data visualization solutions in Looker and is eager to create a great user experience for our internal customers. This person will also be able to wear their data engineer hat and modify our data pipes to fit business needs when necessary.
About Your Contributions:
- You will work closely with various teams to answer any questions about data through Looker tools
- You will know where to pull the right data from and build the right visualization solutions to satisfy all business reporting needs
- You will collaborate with data engineers to ensure reliability in our data pipelines and DWH serving layer when necessary
- You will lead conversations with different business and product stakeholders and own any data deliverables
- You will perform ad-hoc analyses as needed
- You will help educate and train our in-house users to build dashboards in Looker and use Looker's features to answer any key business questions
About You:
- You will have experience working in a fast-paced, high growth company
- 3+ years of experience working in a data engineering, business intelligence, or technical data analytics role
- 2+ years of experience working with Looker
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, orchestration, pipeline and visualization solutions
- Experience with SQL, Python, BigQuery & Presto
- Experience with GCP and AWS
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when explaining technical or complex matters to less technical co-workers
