About the role
We are looking for detail-oriented individuals with clinical training and/or backgrounds to join us in our goal to improve the quality of care for patients in communities across the nation. As an Annotation Specialist, Medical Reports, you will be responsible for annotating radiology reports for key phrases and text to support our ongoing data science research and development efforts. You will work with a growing multidisciplinary team of talented clinical researchers, data scientists, statisticians that works at the intersection of clinical knowledge and advanced data science. The ideal candidate for this role has great attention to detail and is comfortable conducting repetitive work with clinical reports.
This position is for 15 - 25 hours per week, and some work can be done remotely via a secure web browser at flexible hours. There is a required in-person training session in our offices in Midtown East, Manhattan.
Responsibilities
Leverage your (radiology) clinical training and knowledge to label phrases and key terms within radiology reports through a web application
Have the ability to interpret medical reports promptly and accurately, and distinguish the meaning and context of specific medical terms
Collaborate with the data science team to help improve the annotation interface and contribute your ideas to improve the annotation process
Learn basic machine learning knowledge to better understand how annotations are used, allowing you to make more judgement calls on edge cases that may come up during labeling
Requirements
Clinical (radiology) experience and/or training, heavy preference for experience with radiology:
Medical Student (4th Year) experience in radiology rotation
MRI / CT Radiology Technologist with experience with radiology reports
Physician’s Assistant with experience with radiology reports
Doctor of Medicine (MD)
Physical Therapist with experience with radiology reports
Other equivalent medical training / experience with radiology reports
**No Medical Licensure / Malpractice Required**
- Prior experience with radiology, radiology reports, and radiology nomenclature / naming conventions associated with radiology, is heavily preferred
Ability to read and comprehend medical documents quickly and accurately, identifying the meaning of specific text and phrases
Ability to work autonomously and meet bi-weekly deadlines
Detail oriented, patient, and meticulous
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, or similar MS Office software
