Position Overview
Birchbox is looking for an Associate Planner to join the Merchandising & Planning team. You will work within a category of business supporting a Planner by analyzing sales trends and identifying business opportunities in a highly complex and dynamic environment. We are looking for someone willing to dive in and provide insights about all of the different categories within beauty and grooming. You will also collaborate with many other cross-functional teams in this role including Merchandising, Data, Operations, and Marketing.
Specifically you will:
- Support the Merchandising & Planning team with data reporting and analysis
- Assist Planners with forecasting sales, samples and inventory
- Ensure receipts are rolling up against open to buy forecast for the month
- Maintain internal systems with order related information (case packs, availability dates, etc)
- Generate weekly reports for business review meetings with Merchants
- Flag out of stock items to Planners and work with operations to resolve
- Coordinate priority projects across the Planning team
- Support international planning and retail as needed
- Suggest best practices, and ways to make the role and department even better
A successful Associate Planner candidate has:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-4 years experience in a quantitative role (planning, finance, etc)
- Retail planning or merchandising experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills
- Detail oriented
- The drive to "Google it" when you don't know
