The Business Application Architect will have a hands-on role, leading the strategic direction and build-out of Collibra’s SaaS systems architecture and integration strategy to maximize productivity, scale business operations, and put business intelligence into the hands of Collibrians to make improved business decisions.  He or she will have the opportunity to partner with Collibra’s business owners to translate workflow and reporting requirements into technical specifications that manifest into scalable, unified integration and data intelligence solutions.

The Business Applications Architect at Collibra will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with technology and business stakeholders to obtain a full understanding of Collibra’s technology systems and develop an Enterprise Architecture vision and strategy.
  • Drive due diligence for a proper review of SaaS integration providers and lead the vendor selection and contract negotiations.
  • Define an integration implementation roadmap and drive the design and deployment of  integration solutions that enables scalability, availability, and re-use.
  • Partner with the Data Office to ensure all source data, data lake, and Collibra-for-Collibra data governance tools are connected and utilized by business reporting teams across the organization.
  • Create and execute an overall BI/Analytics strategy and roadmap to enable data-driven decision-making that meet the reporting needs of execs, functional leads, and analysts across the organization.
  • Partner with InfoSec to develop architectural and security best practices to ensure application reliability and compliance.
  • Establish an architecture governance board to ensure effective use of corporate applications across the IT ecosystem and to facilitate architecture roadmap decisions that enable Collibra’s long-term business strategy.

You Have:

  • 12-15 years as a hands-on enterprise architect, implementing SaaS and data architecture strategies, and leading IT integration roadmaps through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go-live.
  • Experience with and ability to assess third-party enterprise application integration tools like Mulesoft, Dell Boomi, Jitterbit, Workato.
  • Experience with cloud-based, Saas applications such as Salesforce Sales Cloud & CPQ, Netsuite, Conga, FinancialForce, Workday HCM, Gainsight, Zendesk, Tableau, Marketo.
  • 10+ years experience in Business Intelligence/Data Analytics with ability to architect an enterprise data management solution while leveraging company-wide use of Tableau Online/Desktop and other ETL tools.
  • Subject matter expertise in data warehousing platforms, data marts (Amazon Redshift, preferred), and ETL tools as a foundation to deliver analytics and insights to the business. 
  • Experience architecting data platforms, triangulating data lineage (Collibra, a plus), data operating models, data collection, dataflow management, master data management, data quality, and security.
  • Experience in building integrations with REST and SOAP API, JMS, file, SFTP, DB, Email. 

  • Designs and Develops scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations.

  • Create and propose technical design documentation which includes current and future functionality, Applications/database objects affected, specifications, and flows/diagrams to detail the proposed database and/or Data Integration implementation.

  • Able to work both independently and as a collaborative partner to define technology strategy and best practices with cross-functional leaders and teams. 
  • Someone with strong intellectual curiosity to continually challenge what exists and explore what should be changed to best meet evolving business needs.
  • Comfortable facilitating structured meetings, presenting options, driving decisions, and promoting change. 

Reporting to Collibra's Director of Enterprise Applications, the measures of success for this role are:

  • Within your first month, you’ll meet business stakeholders across the organization to learn the various source systems, data, roles, and processes at Collibra.  You’ll also meet and align with Collibra’s Data Office to assess how we can “drink our own champagne” and leverage Collibra data intelligence software for Collibra.
  • Within your third month, you’ll partner with Collibra’s business stakeholders to collect workflow, data, and reporting requirements and finalize the selection of a SaaS integration solution.
  • Within your sixth month, you will have begun the implementation and deployment of an integration solution, creation of a business intelligence data reporting program, and structure to run and support on-going operations of Collibra’s corporate systems integrations and reporting needs.
