Job Overview

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Lead who will maintain Moda Operandi’s BI team and Data Warehousing efforts. Moda Operandi amasses a high volume of structured and unstructured data in multiple production systems. We strive to have one source of truth for our data and metrics. 

In this role, you’ll take ownership of stakeholder management, strategy, and the data that is available in our data warehouse to the entire organization. In addition, you’ll assist in training and evangelizing democratization of data throughout the organization. You must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead Moda Operandi’s Business Intelligence team & efforts
  • Develop and own data warehouse 
  • Apply best practices with regards to data warehousing, ETL/ELT frameworks
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements
  • Work closely with engineering teams to understand upstream systems and data gaps
  • Help in being an instrumental member of the Data engineering team with a focus on growing our data driven culture

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data warehousing development with emphasis on e-commerce and retail implementation
  • Applied data warehousing techniques and architecture approach
  • Strong data modeling skills
  • Experienced in creating single sources of truth from disparate data sources
  • Strong SQL skills with structured and unstructured data
  • Experience with Snowflake or BigQuery
  • Experience w/ one or more of the following relational databases: MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server
  • Bachelor degree in such fields as information systems, computer science, mathematics and statistics.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, and agile methodology
  • Statistical background a plus
  • Experience w/ clickstream analysis a plus (Segment platform a plus)
  • Experience w/ very large data volumes (millions of daily events) 
  • Experience with reporting and dashboarding tools, preferably Looker
  • Ability to communicate well across cross-functional teams
  • Passionate about data and contributing to the growth of a data driven organization
