About the Role

Frame.io is seeking an eager Business Intelligence Manager to support our data-driven culture and to drive insights across the organization. As a software company serving more than 100,000 users every month, we have seemingly limitless product, marketing, and revenue data from which new growth opportunities can be unlocked.

As our Business Intelligence Manager, your role will be to ensure we support the growth, marketing, product, finance, and customer service teams with the ability to glean key insights for their functional areas. This means continuing to build out our main self-service data tool, Looker, and investing in training data champions from each team who can help you scale your impact.

So what does that look like on a daily basis? Glad you asked! Let's take a look:

You arrive at the office in the morning and check to make sure there are no new errors in Looker from any of the work you or others from across the team committed yesterday. Looks like everything is running smoothly, nice!

The engineering team recently made some significant changes to user roles and permissions available in Frame.io, so you need to make an update to several key views in our Looker instance. You push the updates, test some critical dashboards, and then send a communication to the full company to make sure everyone is aware of the update.

A fresh batch of new hires across sales and support started earlier today. Before lunch, you meet with them for an hour to review the general UI and navigation of Looker, so they're ready for a deeper-dive with their functional teams later that week.

After lunch, you want to spend some time preparing material for the next data champion training that's taking place tomorrow. The data champion program (which meets bi-weekly) has been running well since it started 2 months ago, and tomorrow's training moves on to some more advanced topics including window functions and how to join multiple views together in a Looker model.

Late that afternoon, the data champion from the product team lets you know they’re having some trouble pulling together a conversion analysis given the large volume of click data, so you jump into our data pipeline tool, DataCoral, to create a few materialized views (just a few quick SQL queries is all it takes) of the underlying data required for the analysis. You advise them of the update, so they’re unblocked for their analysis the next day.

Sounds like a fun day, right? If so, let's chat.
