The Chief Architect is a technical architect in DriveWealth's Engineering and Product organizations, and is able to develop technical architecture drawings which can be shared with partners’ enterprise architects who evaluate our technology and use our APIs. This person ensures that our SaaS solution aligns with our product vision/strategy, provides the anticipated business value, and is well-designed, engineered, operable, maintainable, and versatile. This role requires active and hands-on collaboration with Development, Development Operations and Data Engineering teams.

The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating challenging forces in the dynamic trading space and working in a fast-paced environment while implementing strategies and processes that enable the organization to innovate and grow.

Requirements

  • 15 - 18 years of software experience.
  • Advanced degree in a technical field such as computer science and computer engineering
  • 12+ years of hands on software development experience
  • Design technology roadmaps, develop and manage architecture, technical solutions and mentor engineering teams to adopt and use them to create new generation of Trading applications and services.
  • Enable the end-to-end development efforts for on schedule, high quality, scalable innovative solutions that meet the product vision and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Business teams to ensure completeness and common understanding of product vision, roadmap & requirements.
  • Align with architects and senior technologists on proper architecture and design.
  • Drive a strong client focus mindset within the team.
  • Significant experience with large-scale database and data management techniques and technologies.
  • Solid understanding of security concepts and methods for protecting data at rest and in-flight.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Handle routine daily activities such as coordination, coaching, mentoring, recruiting, budgeting, planning, delivery, quality, partner relationships, performance metrics, operations, efficiency, service level management, etc.
  • Think strategically: See patterns and relationships in information and events; clarify and simplify complex information; anticipate trends and possibilities that may lead to new business opportunities; consistently think and act “ahead of the curve;” anticipate and effectively respond with urgency.
  • Reviews how current IT functions throughout the enterprise can be centralized and increase efficiency. Determines methods that aid in various technology areas working together seamlessly.
  • Serves in a critical role that builds, advises, and recommends purchases for technology that will help the enterprise meet its mission goals
  • Conduct advanced research and analysis of current systems to develop strategic implementation plans and designs, document and mitigate risks as well as lessons learned, and provide regular updates
  • Devise plans to mitigate the gaps between the current and future enterprise technologies and service offerings
  • Lead and coach our Engineering team members by showing them better ways of doing things, inspiring them through working together hands-on
  • Willingness and ability to roll up your sleeves to code and coach every day
  • Strong technical skills with service technologies (e.g., API, microservices, Kafka, k8s, docker, streaming, grpc, Java, Go Lang, batch processing)
  • Strong at technical goal setting for a project with actionable success metrics.
  • Experience with measuring a service from user experience perspective, setting and tracking to SLAs and KPIs
  • Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support organizational plans
  • Ability to work in a complex organization to determine business and customer needs, providing the best solution to meet those needs
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in building trading / low latency systems
