Compliance Automation Engineer

The Role
Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience. Our technology improves the overall experience of patient billing and engagement, enabling providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.
Cedar is seeking a Compliance Automation Engineer to implement scalable automation of compliance governance and controls across Cedar systems. This individual will administer compliance systems, and work closely with both the compliance and security teams to distill efficiency gains against compliance standards, regulations, guidelines, baselines, and policies.

Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision and mentorship of the Director of Compliance and perform engineering activities which support the Compliance function
- Administration and maintenance of compliance related tooling (i.e JupiterOne)
- Automation of compliance processes, including evidence collection, control monitoring, and exception management automation
- Development of new strategies/processes required for audit preparedness and continuous compliance
- Interaction with hardware, software and systems teams to implement new compliance requirements on new and existing systems
- Partnership with internal and external auditors to educate them on the technology and control environment, and support internal stakeholders during audit readiness
Required Skills & Experience
- Fluency with scripting via Python or another language
- Proven experience developing automation and system integrations leveraging APIs
- Familiarity with AWS (or equivalent cloud systems) and SaaS
- Proficiency with SQL, basic database design and structuring
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Generalist knowledge of security and compliance (PCI, HITRUST, SOC2)
- Experience mapping common controls across multiple frameworks in a GRC tool
- Prior experience automating audit evidence collection
- Comfort balancing a need to get-things-done with repeatable processes and creative flexibility
