Job Description:

The Data and Insights Engineer is a problem solver and seeks to master the DevOps and agile delivery practice.  He or she is understands the relationships across the data ecosystem and knows where to go to get answers to questions posed by clients. The Data and Insights Engineer is able to translate requests for reports and complex analyses to the underlying business question or problem and then to produce straightforward answers and eventually forecasts or trends.  He or she can identify themes in requests coming from clients and summarize those to help drive priorities for development on other teams.

The Data and Insights Engineer, is responsible for responding to and delivering ad hoc and custom requests from clients (both internal and external) and for contributing to the product in a sustainable and ongoing way, with a high commitment to quality and reliability.  He or she will work closely with cross functional members across the product organization as well as company internal stakeholders and client liasons to understand requests, the urgency associated with them, to communicate SLAs and ensure we are delivering near and long-term value.  

The Data and Insights Engineer plays a very hands-on role developing code as a member of the data and analytics team.  He or she must be adept in the SQL language, able to work with multiple teams and move between tasks with agility, thoughtfully analyzing and solving problems. The Data and Insights Engineer must be passionate about working with data, understanding the application of funcationality and competencies in the data ecosystem and demonstrate servant leadership, accountability and a passion for learning.

The person in this role must also be able to structure common and disparate datasets in a manner that is reliable and performant within the warehouse such that when visualized and accessed from a report, the answers are insightful, accurate, relevant and quickly available for the user.
