Data Engineer, Data Governance
Role:
Peloton is seeking a Data Governance Engineer to support the Enterprise Data team in implementing and supporting the Enterprise applications, systems, and solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our Informatica tech stack, building data pipelines, supporting ad-hoc requests, and working cross-functionally with our growing team of data engineers. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder who has experience building data extraction processes, connections, and infrastructure for cloud-based systems using Informatica Cloud Services. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs and requirements of multiple teams, systems, and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our team’s Informatica architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot and support Informatica tools such as Enterprise Data Catalog, Axon Data Governance, and Informatica Cloud Services and debug issues that may arise within the infrastructure or UI
- Develop data pipelines within Informatica Cloud Integration (CDI) from enterprise business systems and designing and deploying processes to extract and load data between source and target systems, as well as data lakes and data warehouse structures
- Work closely with the Data Governance team to support the development of Informatica tools for management and implementation of data catalogs, dictionaries, and definitions
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Implement enhancements to the current Informatica tech stack in order to scale current business processes
- Build out lineage map within Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog and Axon Data Governance to support the team’s Data Governance initiatives
- Implement Informatica best practices and standards within Informatica Cloud and develop monitoring of application servers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
- 4+ years of related experience in a Data Engineer role
- Advanced working SQL knowledge (prefer Redshift and PostgreSQL)
- Experience building and optimizing ETL pipelines, database ingestion, and API integration (preferably via Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Cloud Data Integration)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot application issues, existing integrations, data flows, and data transformations
- Ability to understand and synthesize data and transformation requirements working with business users
- Strong scripting language knowledge, such as Python, Shell or Perl is required
- Knowledge or experience with Informatica data governance tools (i.e. Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), Axon, IICS - CDI, CDQ)
- Proficiency with the Amazon AWS ecosystem
- Advanced LAMP (Linux + Apache Tomcat + MySQL + PHP) Web Application management expertise
- Good understanding of Unix and TCP/IP fundamentals
- Must have experience working simultaneously with multiple stakeholders, sponsors, and business partners, exhibiting an ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Preferred Skills:
- Functional knowledge or experience with ERP Systems (i.e. NetSuite, SAP)
- Experience in the retail industry
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
- Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
