OUR DATA & ANALYTICS TEAM

The Kinship Data & Analytics team is a multifaceted team with global impact on the Kinship businesses. This team, a mixture of engineering, product insights, and data science associates, will partner with internal and Mars Petcare teams to build a rich understanding of pets and pet-owners and power our business and the Kinship data ecosystem. We are using an evolving, cutting edge tech stack to help us ingest, process, model and democratize data from across the segment to create robust pet-centric views of our clients. As a member of a team that is still growing, you will have the opportunity to help shape our team’s identity and footprint. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, is comfortable working on ever-changing problems, works well cross-functionally, has a sharp eye for details, proactively owns and solves problems, and is always excited to learn.


HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO

  • Contribute to exciting data projects to support better understanding of pets and pet owners
  • Power our product and services with data by implementing batch and streaming data pipelines using tools like Airflow and cloud-based data services like Google’s BigQuery, AWS, etc.
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to improve our existing data models and tooling
  • Develop processes for automating, testing, and deploying your work to ensure data accuracy and quality
  • Help us evolve Kinship data platform by exploring new methods or technologies, through POCs or related activities

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Base technical skills: you are skilled and confident working in SQL, Python, and database systems (e.g., AWS, GCP, Redshift). Ideally 1+ years of experience with all three.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools and query engines like Tableau, Looker, etc. and the engineering efficiencies they require
  • History of collaborating: you consider collaboration a core value and have experience engaging with stakeholders to successfully complete deliverables.
  • Flexibility and eagerness to adapt to new software and techniques. Deep domain expertise in every aspect of data engineering isn’t expected, but be willing to learn and approach the learning with excitement.
  • Energized about working creatively with interesting, innovative data
  • We're seeking someone with a bachelor's degree or above in a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Our New York City office is conveniently located right off the 28th street 6 train station bustling with fantastic cafes, restaurants, and bars. A few blocks away is gorgeous Madison Square Park where you can pick up SweetGreen nearby and have lunch with a view.
