Our new Data Solutions business, powered by a diverse global team of data, product and client success experts are dedicated to helping asset managers, pension funds and insurance companies solve their most complex data problems by consolidating and standardizing data so they can use it more effectively.
Role Description:
Fusion by J.P. Morgan, our recently launched data platform, offers the opportunity to play an integral role in the ideation and development of new products and services to a broad range of institutional clients located all over the world. You will join an entrepreneurial and collaborative team that engages with a wide range of data across use cases to develop solutions to real-world problems utilizing the latest cloud technology.
We are seeking a Data Management Engineer within the Fusion Technology organization. The position is ideal for an individual who has proven track record in leading and guiding data engineering teams, software design and programming, data modeling and modern engineering practices. You will also have close collaborations with technical partners across the organization, navigating complexity to provide optimal, scalable, and resilient end to end data management platform solutions.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong passion for data, problem solving, and domain knowledge as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Operate on big financial and non-financial data using modern parallel data analytics tools
- Strong hands-on working experience on core Java or PySpark
- Data engineering or ETL data pipeline development
- Utilize the latest cloud technology and infrastructure to perform analysis at scale
- Leverage technical skills to source and prepare data from a variety of data sources including traditional databases, SQL, no-SQL, Hadoop, and Cloud.
- Build and maintain dataset documentation and metadata
- Work with Tech, Product and other data partners to develop and implement data engineering use cases
- Evaluate the current data architecture and shape the future state data architecture and roadmap
- Works closely with data analytics staff within our team and partner teams to optimize solutions and develop / foster new ideas
Qualifications:
- Technical Leadership experience including resource management
- Data Architecture skills
- Traditional Database Skills (Oracle, SQL Server). Strong SQL overall
- Data Transformation skills
- Ability to profile, clean, and extract data from a variety of sources
- Experience with at least one coding language (Java, Python, Scala, etc.)
- Exposure to data science, AI/ML and model development
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior executive level.
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline
- Basic understanding of financial markets
