Job Description

POSITION:
Data Scientist, Computer Vision (Health Informatics)

MSKCC has a growing AI development community committed to improving the detection, characterization, and treatment of cancer. The Computer Scientist / Data Scientist will have ample opportunities to participate in the broader MSKCC AI community to grow professionally and academically.

What you'll be doing:

• Consult with clinical radiology staff to understand business needs, translate these needs into technical / analytics tasks, and be capable of performing deep learning model development independently.

• Lead a deep learning effort employing supervised training to build radiology image segmentation artificial intelligence (AI) models.

• Build data pipelines for automated training data preprocessing, and will train, optimize, and test segmentation models.
• Crafting efficient and reusable modularized components that drive complex applications

• Experience with supervised training of deep learning models utilizing large imaging datasets for computer vision tasks. Experience working with the DICOM imaging standard.

Our ideal candidate is:

• Solid understanding of data analysis tools, with data science preferred
• Passionate about data and creating new solutions to empower cancer care and research
• Strong knowledge of programming languages, ETL tools and their administration, and exposure to relational/non-relational databases OR
• Linux experience highly preferred, but not required.
• Python programming language required.
