THE ROLE

Gotham Greens is seeking an exceptional database administrator and inventory specialist to manage and maintain its data infrastructure across multiple systems and databases within an Azure web-hosted environment. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of company data and ensuring that data warehousing, systems, servers, and connections perform as required. In addition, this role will be responsible for product inventory management.

As a hire on a growing team, the successful candidate will be able to wear multiple hats and take on additional responsibilities as they arise. She/he/they will also help execute technical requirements to meet the company’s business intelligence and reporting needs. The successful candidate has sophisticated analytical skills, a strategic mindset, deep project management experience, and superior programming proficiency.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Database Administrator

  • Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and help build out Gotham Greens’ modern data infrastructure
  • Build, schedule, and manage data transfers from application origin through batch and streaming systems to make it available for key business decisions
  • Track system functionality and capacity, and modify the systems as needed, e.g. flag when servers need additional storage capacity and manage the upgrade process
  • Advise on best practices for designing applications to streamline and automate analytics and reporting; participate in large-scale data engineering
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of company data across all locations and systems daily, particularly the Sage ERP system
  • Build data models, data sets, reports, and connections based on requests and requirements from stakeholders across the company; contribute to developing an enterprise-wide Power BI reporting capability
  • Help ensure systems and technology align to the rapidly evolving needs of the business; keep up with emerging technology and help the company adopt such technology as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

 

Inventory Specialist

  • Support all business processes, management requirements, and reporting needs related to inventory management by maintaining accurate inventory records; manage and record all inventory changes and input inventory data into SAGE ERP system
  • Participate in tracking and processes related to shipping and receiving finished goods; ensuring first-in-first-out product rotation throughout all facilities; maximizing product shelf life; and tracking and forecasting harvest yields
  • Respond promptly to inventory and reporting-related needs from stakeholders across the company
  • Resolve errors related to tracking of inventory, product quality, and yields

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data science, information systems, technology, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated achievement in data-related fields
  • Experience managing a modern cloud-based data warehouse
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills, ability to work with diverse stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into associated technical specifications and deliverables
  • A relentless drive to achieve goals and solve problems
  • Operates with passion, urgency, focus, and discipline

 

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with Azure, AWS or other cloud services (e.g. Google Cloud, S3, Redshift, EC2, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications, Microsoft Power BI, PowerApps
  • Advanced knowledge of data management tools such as SQL(RDBMS), NoSQL, Hadoop and/or other big data technologies
  • Advanced skills in at least one of the programming languages such as R, Python, Java, C or C++
  • Experience with machine learning related open source libraries including, but not limited to: Hadoop, Spark, SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, etc.
