Collibra is looking for a Director of Data Intelligence in our growing Data Office to evolve our data strategy, build out the team, support our business with data products, organize data processes … all while “eating our own dog food”. This role will report to the CTO and Cofounder and will be an integral part in helping Collibra’s rapid growth and our thought leading position in data intelligence.

You’ll be a leading example in practicing what we preach: you have a passion for data and analytics, and you connect it to people, process, and organization turning it into insight, decision and action. You understand what drives data teams, you grasp what the business needs, and you know how to combine them. You know how to put together programs and plans - and keep stakeholders aligned in the right direction. You are excited to promote an insights-driven data culture.

The Director of Data Intelligence at Collibra is responsible for:

  • Evolving the data and analytics strategy, translate it to 3, 6 and 12+ month plans and drive and monitor daily execution
  • Build, lead and grow the data team in a mission to generate business value from data by delivering data products
  • Partner, build relations and collaborate with key senior stakeholders across the organization (Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, Engineering, …) to define key business questions and use cases, to prioritize and plan work, and to execute into production and maintenance of relevant data products.
  • Shape and grow the data architecture to a production ready infrastructure that enables all data and analytics stakeholders across the company to build data products, and that “keeps the lights on” for all data products
  • Be a leading voice on data and analytics in (and outside) Collibra, including by presenting to leadership and broad team forums.
  • Identify, design and implement internal process improvements to mature the way we work with data.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience building and leading data and analytics teams, ideally in a context in or very close to business functions
  • Experienced at identifying, prioritizing, and getting buy-in for data opportunities within a large organization.
  • A conceptual understanding of methods in analytics and data science. Understanding of common roadblocks and technical challenges.
  • Experience with cloud-based data infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or GCP), SQL, dashboarding (e.g., Tableau), Python/R.

You Are:

  • Process driven and familiar with supporting different types of stakeholders, and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Both business savvy and data skills to interface with all levels and disciplines.
  • Inspirational to win over hearts and minds to the “data way”, including by leading by example.
  • Proficient in training and enabling data teams.
  • Someone with a proven track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a fast paced environment.

Measuring Success:

Reporting to Collibra’s CTO, measures of success are:

    • Within your first month you will review the existing strategy, build an execution plan, build and lead the team, liaise with partners across the business.
    • Within your third month you will deliver the first data product(s), drive process, and improve the monitoring of the data platform.
    • Within your sixth month you will be popular with data teams across the company, lead the data and analytics community, update the data strategy, update on programs and plans, ...
