In order to achieve our ambitious goals, we are making huge investments in our Data and Analytics functions, and are seeking a Director of Data Warehouse to join and help lead our growing Data team. In this role, you’ll report directly to our VP of Data and Analytics, and will lead an extremely talented and passionate team, owning and overseeing all aspects of the data warehouse and business reporting and analytics. In this role, you’ll also partner with Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing , ETL logic, Data Governance, Data Privacy, Data Training, and will partner closely with our and our Engineering team to own Data engineering to distill and synthesize information, delivering key reports that will help drive our business forward. You’ll also mentor, develop, and build a growing Data team to support our short, mid, and long term data analytics and reporting goals.

What You’ll Do In this Role:

  • Lead, develop, and build a best-in-class Business Intelligence team of BI Analysts, Data Scientists, Architects, Engineers, and ETL developers 
  • Own and drive data tooling, reporting and support across Data Warehouse, ETL logic, Data Governance, Data Privacy, Data Training, and Data Literacy
  • Evaluate and continuously improve workflows and processes from the BI ticket queue to addressing Data Engineering needs outside of our Core Engineering function
  • Develop and execute a long term vision to ensure scalability and usability of the EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse); successfully convert data from reports and ETL logic enhance usage of our BI tool (Looker) to clearly define and develop our Reporting Data Models
  • Develop, craft, and deliver clear, actionable reports to each aspect of our business across the freight lifecycle to help drive and improve company performance

How You Know this Role is For You:

  • You love Data and you love complex problem solving! 
  • You 10+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, ETL, and Data Governance
  • You have significant experience leading large teams in a high growth, fast, paced environment, owning Data Warehousing and a modern data stack
  • More specifically, you have led, and ideally helped build, high performing teams, and are fulfilled by empowering both individual contributors and managers to tap into their full potential
  • You love to explain highly complex technical Data details to anyone and everyone in a way that gets them just as excited about the power of Data as you are
  • You’re energized by transforming Warehouse construct into a value-generating function by clearly correlating data, analytics, and reporting to business challenges in a way that drives actionable solutions 
  • You’ve implemented data governance systems and processes, including, but not limited to, a data dictionary and trainings
  • You enjoy getting stakeholders involved and excited about data by creating demonstrable value for the function
  • You are curious, honest, intelligent, and have high integrity

Location

Transfix's NYC HQ is steps from the Oculus and Fulton Center, with access to subway train lines. We are close to tons of restaurants, shops. We are on the top floor so have wonderful light and breathtaking views, including a spectacular view of One World Trade from our outdoor rooftop deck!
