Director, Marketplace Analytics
Ticketing is a complex, historically opaque industry with a unique set of challenges. At SeatGeek we look to open ticketing with innovative technology, thoughtful interfaces, and an above-all-else focus on our users.
We are looking for a Director of Marketplace Analytics to join SeatGeek's Analytics team in New York City. SeatGeek's Marketplace team maximizes customer value by ensuring we have the greatest number of competitively priced listings to the events you want to attend. You will join SeatGeek's Data team, who are the go-to partner for Marketplace's data production, decision support, and insights generation needs.
In this role, you will partner directly with Marketplace leadership to define and execute data roadmaps, and build systems and tools that empower the team while bringing forward actionable and inspiring insights to drive critical operational and strategic decisions across all aspects of SeatGeek's ticketing marketplace.
You have a deep understanding of two-sided marketplace domains such as pricing, incentives, business partnerships, and logistics/operations. You are a clear communicator with attention to detail that is second to none. Finally, as an experienced manager leading a team of analysts/data scientists, you will have broad experience in managing teams in the data space.
What you'll do
- Manage multiple analytics teams supporting SeatGeek's Marketplace organization. These teams support Portfolio Management, Marketplace Health & Operations, and Competitor Intelligence teams within the Marketplace org.
- Recruit, train and mentor team members. Support their personal and professional growth, and foster a motivated, creative and exploratory environment.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to Marketplace leadership and SeatGeek executives; help the team sharpen their thinking and execute on top priorities.
- Design and implement an operational model for data utilization in strategic decision making on the Marketplace team. Do so by being an expert in the data, surfacing metrics, and driving conversations about them with your stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Data leadership to continuously improve our insight-creation capabilities, as a trusted and influential evangelist for data-driven decision making. Promote good science.
- Plan and execute the Marketplace Analytics team's strategy and roadmap. Own and lead multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and results-oriented environment.
Who you are
- BA / BS degree business, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or any scientific or computational degree.
- 5+ years of experience as a people manager in analytics or data science, with experience hiring, coaching, and leading diverse, high-performing teams. Experience managing managers.
