OUR PRODUCT TEAM

The Product Team at Kinship is at the forefront of digital services and platforms for millennial pet parents. We’re product manager, designers, and researchers driving true innovation in the pet world through the development of products that benefit consumers and their pets. Backed by a global leader and focused on the future of pet care, our team is a go-getting, dedicated group committed to bringing everyone closer to their pet and making that experience about ease and joy.

User-centricity is at the heart of our product decisions. We’re seeking a Director of Research & Insights eager to uncover actionable insights for new products and growth opportunities in pet care. This role plays a key role in advising Kinship throughout the product development journey for our businesses, from exploratory market research to concept testing to usability testing. They’ll ensure our decisions are grounded in consumer insights while developing Research at Kinship into a small but mighty group. 

 

HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO

  • Lead the end-to-end development and execution of consumer/B2B research, market research, and UX research, both primary and secondary, for new physical product launches and ongoing product assortment maintenance
  • Synthesize research findings into actionable insights/deliverables cross-functionally for stakeholders in product, growth, business development, and leadership positions
  • Leverage a mix of vendors and primary research to always keep pulse on consumer desires
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to understand learning objectives that will inform both quantitative and qualitative research development, deployment, and analysis to drive actionable recommendations and thoughtful decisions about the future of our product
  • Set the direction for research priorities based on what will bring the best products to market for our current and future customers, informing concept ideation and validation through sample testing and monitoring post-launch success 
  • Utilize existing research and data, while proactively integrating new sources of data and information to ensure the most impactful and relevant insights are brought to life for our teams
  • Identify consumer, market, business and brand trends and intelligence that shapes our business, marketing and media strategies.
  • Present insights across different departments at all levels of the organization, including non-researchers
  • Lead and mentor team of researchers and develop best practices/processes for the research team



THE PRO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in highly strategic and analytical roles with proven ability to transform insights into action; can be a combination of supplier and brand experience across industries
  • Extensive experience with Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS (or similar data analysis tool), and online survey tool (e.g., Qualtrics, Survey Monkey)
  • Strong technical capability in market research and UX research preferred
  • Quantitative and qualitative research experience with range of methodologies and tools including comfort with creating questionnaires and discussion guides, developing screeners and sample plans, and analysing data to develop findings; survey programming and qualitative in-person interview moderation experience a plus
  • Must be an independent, strategic, and creative thinker who is a strong team player (no job is too small or too large) and willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary
  • Ability to work in fast-paced ever-changing environment, effectively manage competing priorities, and produce research deliverables with short turnaround times
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, including statistical evaluation & synthesis. Ability to analyse both quantitative and qualitative data to identity patterns, trends, insights, opportunities, gaps and define implications from multiple sources of data.
  • Experience in managing research agencies and running qualitative offline or online research. 
  • Experience devising research plans, significance testing, survey design, implementation and reporting of results

Our New York City office is conveniently located right off the 28th street 6 train station bustling with fantastic cafes, restaurants, and bars. A few blocks away is gorgeous Madison Square Park where you can pick up SweetGreen nearby and have lunch with a view.
