| Greater NYC Area
Mulberry is disrupting a $50B insurance industry by providing omnichannel merchants a seamless API-based platform from which to offer product insurance to their customers. We call NYC home and are passionate about building ecommerce products that take a customer-first approach. Our platform not only drives revenue for brands, but also improves customer experience and trust in warranty programs.

As the Director of Mulberry’s Strategic Analytics team, you will be a hands-on leader with a passion for data and analysis with a clear vision for how data can transform company strategy. About You:
You believe in the transformative power of technology and are excited by its potential to build trust and a top notch customer experience in the insurance industry (Btw, we call it Assurance!). You embrace responsibility: the buck stops with you. You have strong data, analytics and modeling skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to solve complex problems. You love to learn new things, build from scratch and make processes more efficient. You are always prepared to roll up your sleeves, no problem is too big or too small. You are an extraordinary listener, communicator and teammate, and, most importantly, take pride in your craft.

More specifically:

  • You are a trusted partner. When someone comes to you with a data need, you ask what, how, when, and help them narrow in on their needs, present other ideas/areas for them to consider, and give them something actionable
  • You are a builder and Automator. You know how to build tools and automation to make data easy to access and understand
  • You have experience working with managers to create operational metrics and reporting for specific groups within the company with recommendations and insights
  • You have a history of evaluating, developing, and maintaining cross-functional infrastructure of internal tools for a revenue organization
  • You have experience as a “data generalist” highly preferred. The best candidates have some experience with data visualization; analytics/data engineering and data modeling; and statistical modeling and other quantitative analytical methods
  • You are a person who is strategic, technical and business savvy when it comes to data analytics and how it can improve/grow a business

About the role:

  • Working within the finance team, while managing the current data analyst on the team (until you hire more!) and partnering with our product analyst, you will enable informed decisions, help identify risks and opportunities, and achieve financial and strategic objectives. You will start by drafting and executing on a plan to improve our revenue and assurance analytics and continue with a holistic data strategy at Mulberry. You will work collaboratively with Partner Success, Engineering, Assurance, Product, Finance, Marketing and Sales. You will, individually and as the team’s director, discover meaningful insights and inform important decisions.

More specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with all functions of the company to ensure data needs are addressed and the required data is modeled and available to analysts and end-users
  • Own the development of forecasting and KPI dashboards. Analyze and determine assurance metrics, e-commerce metrics in addition to CAC, LTV, payback period, Churn, and Pipeline Health
  • Analyze the company's revenue and assurance results - profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc report to senior management
  • Own and develop a roadmap for the analytics function that clearly defines ownership and responsibility between the central data function and the functional groups
  • Create a data framework so that all company data can be analyzed in a unified manner
  • Partner heads of business groups to ensure forecasts and financial targets will be achieved and managed

An Insider's view of Mulberry Technology

How does your team reward individual success?

At Mulberry we use HeyTaco to celebrate individual achievements in a public Slack channel called #taqueria When giving a taco to another team member, we include relevant company values as hashtags. Gift cards are awarded to the two people who give and receive the most tacos each month.

What does your typical day look like?

My typical day at Mulberry varies depending on the sprint. Discussing product requirements, implementing new features, doing code reviews, and mentoring other engineers are some of the several tasks I take on during my day here. Working with some of the brightest individuals is something that I look forward to everyday.

Waleed

Software Engineer

What are some things you learned at the company?

Coming into a scaling startup, I wanted to understand how sales insights drive product/content strategy, and I’ve definitely had the mentorship here to do so. From enterprise sales to understanding e-commerce, joining the Mulberry team has been a great way to gain expertise with fresh industry verticals, buyer personas, and business challenges.

Kate

SDR Manager

What is your vision for the company?

Mulberry is building the trust-layer for commerce. We help digital platforms grow loyalty (and revenue) by seamlessly embedding extended protection into their customer journey. With Mulberry, anyone can offer up to 10 year product insurance as an add-on online, while giving customers a best-in-class claims filing experience.

Chinedu

Founder & CEO

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

I have always believed that sales is an art first, a science second. While sales is metrics and strategy driven it also requires creativity to succeed. I push my team to rely on the facts but to always make sure they are asking themselves the “5 w’s” (who, what, when, where and why) to drive innovation.

Ashley

Co-founder & Head of Growth
