Data Products at Ribbon

As the Manager of the Data Products team, you will manage and grow a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional peers to unlock unique growth opportunities within Ribbon and further our mission of home ownership.

The ideal candidate will be creative, empathetic, focused on execution, and have a demonstrated track record of driving data-informed decisions.

How you'll help make homeownership achievable:

  • Partner closely with Product, UX, and Engineering to define the technical roadmap for the Data Products team
  • Identify areas of our business that could disproportionately benefit from ML techniques, and design proof of concepts to demonstrate impact
  • Implement best practices throughout the machine learning cycle of our predictive valuation models, including: defining success metrics, model evaluation and deployment, performance monitoring, and operationalizing the pipeline
  • Coach the team in providing quantitative and qualitative insights and data-driven recommendations around product use, user engagement, and funnel optimization
  • Grow the data scientists and engineers on the Data Products team by providing challenging work, technical guidance, regular feedback, and an environment where everyone can do their best work, as measured by employee NPS, team retrospectives and feedback
  • Drive data quality and completeness throughout the organization

Who you are:

  • Excited by the opportunity to develop and inspire a growing team of data scientists and machine learning engineers and be a hands-on contributor to our codebase
  • Expert level skills with statistical methods like regression, generalized linear models, experiment design and analysis, and common ML and data analysis frameworks such as pandas, sklearn, pytorch, tensorflow
  • Knowledgeable around best practices across the machine learning lifecycle, and building, deploying, instrumenting & monitoring Machine Learning algorithms & pipelines on cloud environments such as AWS
  • A great communicator who has experience working cross-functionally and is able to use data storytelling techniques and tools to explain complex technical concepts to business users
  • Entrepreneurial mindset who sees opportunity in ambiguity

Bonus points:

  • Experience in residential real estate and/or startups
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Tensorflow
  • Experience with natural language processing and/or optical character recognition
