Addepar is seeking an experienced Head of Business Intelligence, to lead the creation, architecture and management of central business intelligence Infrastructure in support of all corporate functions. This leader will create our data model and environment for company-wide operational & financial metrics, including a cloud-hosted BI warehouse.

It is critical that this leader understand the SaaS business model, be very familiar with SaaS metrics, and have implemented a data warehouse in support of functional stakeholders in sales, marketing, product, engineering, finance and HR.

This leader will develop the roadmap for the creation and evolution of Addepar’s enterprise data model. This role will report to the CFO and have a staff of 5-6.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop an enterprise BI architecture strategy and data model that addresses Addepar’s business needs, and establishes the approach for securely integrating information, applications and programs with the overall IT strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional exec team and Eng team to develop an enterprise IT infrastructure roadmap and enterprise architecture
  • Develop dashboards for 360 view of the client, client retention, annual recurring revenue, client profitability, client usage, etc.
  • Develop and maintain 2 year rolling roadmaps that optimally reflect business need priorities, efficient sequencing, resources and funding
  • Provide oversight for the proposal, approval and execution of large company-wide programs.
  • Manage demand and delivery of new projects and review existing designs for improvements.
  • Utilize best practices, structured approaches and architecture standards for evaluating, designing and implementing services/solutions to meet requirements for functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security and disaster recovery; proactively manage performance of key vendors and third parties
  • Partner with counterparts to implement and operationalize controls necessary for security, GDPR, SOX and internal control policies.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 5+ years as a Lead IT Infrastructure architect including research, development and delivery of technical solutions in support of a SaaS business.
  • 5+ years of enterprise architecture experience - constructing and implementing an enterprise data model.
  • Business acumen and executive-level influencing skills to formulate and obtain cross-functional support for proposed IT projects.
  • Familiarity with home grown, legacy infrastructure and mapping it to standard data models such as SalesForce, NetSuite, Marketo, etc.
  • Ability to objectively assess, articulate and constructively debate major strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, risks and considerations for multiple alternatives and incorporate input from other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage our current toolset: Python familiarity; high degree of familiarity with Snowflake, Looker, Periscope, or similar.
  • Experience working within AWS; designing, developing and architecting in the Amazon Web Services environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills with active-listening skills.
  • Proven adaptability to shifting project schedules, priorities and assignments; able to make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated problem-solver with the ability to cope under pressure and coordinate multiple activities in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent written and documentation skills including proof reading and attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-driven, motivated senior IT professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and leadership/good executive presence.
  • Strong financial acumen to propose & meet budgets that are driven by plans, accurate cost forecasts, and improve service value.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, technical design and operational controls is desired
  • Ability to effectively manage large global deployments of new or enhanced IT end user services using vendors.
  • Highly collaborative, accountable and results-driven.
