You Will 

  • Help internal teams understand how BuzzFeed users interact with our range of products - through detailed analysis, dashboard creation, and regular reporting tasks.
  • Develop key performance metrics that align with company user retention and acquisition goals.
  • Administer A/B tests to evaluate feature impact and inform product strategy.
  • Manage 1 or 2 direct reports - mentoring these analysts as they develop both their technical skills and soft skills.
  • Design and drive longer-term projects, such as implementing new processes or creating new tools to enhance the efficiency of team.
  • Balance individual contributor work and managerial responsibilities.

You Have

The ideal candidate will have an analytical background and leadership experience.  They will be eager to learn and to tackle problems in the realm of product optimization and growth.  They should be comfortable working in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with product managers, engineers, designers and content leads.

  • 3 or more years of quantitative analytics experience, with background or strong interest in the area of user-centric product analytics.
  • 1 or more years of leadership or mentorship experience, with management of direct reports a plus.
  • Familiarity with the key concepts of A/B test design and analysis.
  • Excellent communication abilities, with a focus on clearly articulating recommendations to a range of stakeholders.
  • Very comfortable using SQL to explore large datasets.
  • Some exposure to a business intelligence tool (we use Looker).
