Girls Who Code is embarking on a 3 year plan to implement our data and analytics strategy. This position will have overall responsibility in implementing the strategy and delivering actionable data insights to stakeholders across the organization. S/he will be a leader in enhancing our data driven culture and capabilities by implementing business use cases identified in our strategy and execution roadmap. S/he will be focused on providing end users access to business intelligence dashboards that will provide actionable insights from the data collected an array of source systems to support GWC’s strategic objectives and measure our impact.

The Manager Data and Analytics will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will work alongside our System Operations and Product teams, as well as all data owners and users in the organization. This role will be supported by an external team including a data architect, a developer and a database administrator to build and update a reporting database periodically and develop a set of dashboards for end users.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and report success of the data & analytics strategy and aligns the data & analytics vision with the strategic direction of GWC
  • Support the Data Governance committee in enforcing relevant data standards and policies
  • Mobilize the needed data, people, and systems to make data & analytics succeed within organization 
  • Work closely with executives to inject data & analytics into company strategies and important decisions
  • In collaboration with external vendor, build and maintain the data & analytics reporting database 
  • Streamline the Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) of data from each source system into the reporting database

Requirements

  • 4 year of experience managing reporting database, streamlining data ETL and data visualization and dashboarding
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field
  • Defines and communicates a clear vision to internal and external stakeholders
  • Is adaptive to change, able to pivot to a new strategic direction and convince the team to change
  • Makes strategic decisions with future needs and capabilities in mind, is not limited by current state limitations
  • Strong customer focus and management of client expectations
  • Creates a clear vision and matches development goals of team resources to the work at hand
  • Detail-oriented; superb organizational skills a must
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment with changing requirements 
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, maturity, positivity and confidence
