About the team & Opportunity: 

In this role, you will support Quartet’s efforts around Medicaid patients. The ideal candidate is an effective cross-functional collaborator, who will work closely with our VP, Medicaid Program to inform how the specific nuances and needs of Medicaid patients will impact our product, patient engagement strategies, clinical models, and in-market operations. This person will have strong knowledge of Medicaid populations, managed care and the Medicaid program. This role will report to the VP, Medicaid Program. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as in-house subject matter expert on the most up-to-date changes in Medicaid policy and trends in the markets in which we operate. This includes:
    • Developing a system for maintaining awareness and tracking market-by-market changes in policy, reimbursement, mental health and primary care strategies, and so on; effectively communicate these updates to relevant and impacted parties within Quartet
    • Beyond policy, develop and report on nuances in population demographics, clinical needs, sub-lines of business (e.g. TANF, LTSS, etc), and specific barriers to care, tailored to each market, dependent on our customers
    • Support our work with outside vendors and consultants to obtain this data
  • Proactively build relationships with key Medicaid stakeholders (policy, government, non-profit, clinical, community partners etc) in new and existing markets, working in collaboration with our business development and marketing teams to integrate Quartet into the local community and conversation around mental health
  • Serve as a lieutenant to our Medicaid lead, consulting with internal and external teams to define and develop new initiatives related to Medicaid, leveraging your knowledge of this domain. Work cross functionally across product, clinical and market operations to assist in executing these initiatives.
    • Supports development of Medicaid Playbook and service offerings, which will be a key initiative of this newly-formed team
  • Support our business development team as we enter into new markets and Medicaid populations, by:
    • Equipping team with market-level insights for net-new markets, and assist BD leads in preparing for meetings related specifically to Medicaid populations
    • Supporting work in collaboration with our health plan clients around their submissions for Medicaid RFP’s, positioning Quartet as a strategic partner around mental health

Successful Outcomes:

  • Support Medicaid lead in delivering playbook for Quartet to identify and facilitate getting Medicaid patients into relevant mental health care services at the end of ~6 months applicable to specific market
  • Aim to become a full-fledged SME on Quartet’s Medicaid strategy and work to materialize a scheduled plan to integrate into our products and services within your first year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in a healthcare organization with direct experience in Medicaid policy and/or delivery
  • Past experience in research and reporting on complex industries and evolving trends, ideally in healthcare/ vulnerable populations; able to synthesize and communicate data effectively, and tailor to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple ongoing projects and balance time appropriately; proactive in surfacing (and solving!) potential issues or barriers
  • Excellence in Microsoft office suite (Word, powerpoint)
