Database Administrator
We are currently looking for a self-motivated, MySQL DBA with Oracle experience to join our team. In this role, you’ll be working with our Systems and DB team to improve our existing database infrastructure, day-to-day operational activities including break/fix, capacity management, backup and recovery, database High Availability Clusters, replication setup/management and ongoing database change reviews.
Projects:
Build out our clustered / highly-available database environments on Oracle 19C, MySQL 5.7, MySQL 8.0
Database upgrades and replica setups
Routine database backups and restore exercises
Database monitoring and alerting enhancements
Primary Responsibilities
The job involves the following responsibilities:
Manage all primary and replica databases across our primary and DR data centers
Participate in database designs, optimization and maintenance issues
Participate in on-call rotation
Participate in weekly release process
Install, configure, backup, upgrades, user management, monitoring, and performance tuning of Oracle 19c, MySQL 5.7 and MySQL 8.0 on Linux
Develop strategies and implement solutions for database continuous testing, integration and delivery
Document policies, processes, and procedures
Implement best practices
Assist the dev teams as needed
Job Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Experience with MySQL Databases administration (everything from scripting, best practices, systems configurations, tuning and optimization, and backups, restores, data dumps, etc)
Good understanding of the Oracle database architecture (Single Instance, RAC and ASM), related utilities and tools on Oracle 12c or later including RMAN backup and Oracle native and/or third party replication tools
Knowledge of HA/DR design considerations for MySQL database systems
Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
You should be comfortable in a Linux environment
You should have some knowledge of oracle OEM 12C/13C
Financial/trading or investment environments are a huge plus
Experience with Bash, Python or PHP scripting is a plus
Responsible for installation, upgrades (Database and RAC), patches, SR support, database tuning, concurrent manager administration, cloning
It would also help if you have a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or Engineering
The salary for this position is $130,000 - $175,000 + bonus + benefits.
