about the role:

Payments are at the core of nate, including our recently launched Pay Later anywhere on the internet. As our lead Payments & Risk Data Analyst, you’ll provide insight into our complex web of payments and user data. You will drive product and financial decisions related to new features and fraud detection, and be a leader in evaluating the health of our payments business.

what you'll do:

• Conduct data analysis to make business recommendations and evaluate business performance (e.g. payment decline rate analysis, fraud prevention, downstream effects of product/feature changes, etc.)
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to identify and communicate key trends and areas of improvement
• Develop compelling and interactive dashboards and automated reporting related to key performance metrics
• Assist in maintaining complex data models in order to provide comprehensive insight into user activity across our social & payments products

about you:

• 2+ years of experience with data analysis, working with databases, and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, Snowflake), R/Python a plus
• Experience working in Risk, Fraud, or Payments space
• Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode)
• Experience working cross functionally, particularly with Product and Finance teams
• Interest in applied statistics, particularly using statistical packages (e.g. R, pandas, SAS, Stata, etc.)
