We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join the Product team at Snap Inc.
What you’ll do
Partner with other data scientists, product managers, product designers, engineers and apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to accomplish complex tasks and help drive product and business decisions
Think creatively, proactively, and futuristically to identify and size up new opportunities within Snap's long term roadmap for data-scientific contributions
Conduct machine learning or statistical analyses, and build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous solutions to deliver actionable insights, accurate predictions, and effective optimizations
Communicate best practices in quantitative analysis and develop cross-functional partnerships
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong statistical knowledge
Ability to initiate and drive data science projects to completion with minimal guidance
Ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams
Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
Demonstrated ability to present data science results and recommendations to business and technical clients
An understanding of Snapchat with great product sense and product understanding
Advanced degree in a relevant field such as statistics or machine learning or equivalent years of experience
5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, data science, or a related field
Experience using machine learning and statistical analysis for building data-driven product solutions or performing methodological research.
Experience with deep learning, NLP, neural networks, Bayesian modeling, time series analysis (such as developing and maintaining forecasting models), social network analysis, or recommendation and ranking algorithms
Experience with causal inference techniques, experimental design and/or A/B testing with packages such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, scikit-learn
A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
