Quantitative Sciences Group Head, Prospective Research

One of the key areas of development for Flatiron is prospective research and evidence generation. We are looking for a Quantitative Science leader with experience in clinical trials who is excited to make an immediate impact in this critical space. This position requires a deep understanding of clinical trial designs and execution, strategic mindset, outstanding problem-solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills. You will collaborate with a team of oncologists, trial operations specialists, product managers, account directors and software engineers to help develop, commercialize, and deliver our prospective research products.
What You'll Do
- QS Lead on strategy and product development to conduct prospective research. This includes -
- Actively contributing to the development of vision and long term strategies to grow the prospective research business
- Identifying and building key operational and data management capabilities needed to run prospective trials with EHR data
- Building a team of quantitative scientists with relevant expertise to meet the needs of this growing area of focus for Flatiron
- Oversee the conduct of ongoing prospective trials and provide strategic and technical input on study designs, analytical plans and study reports
- Build strong relationships and scientific collaborations with life science partners interested in prospective research
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify fit-for-purpose opportunities for prospective evidence generation to enhance the probability of acceptance of real-world data for important regulatory/payer decision making
- Manage and develop a group of quantitative scientists working on prospective research within Flatiron
Who You Are
- You hold a PhD in statistics/biostatistics or a Masters degree with 10+ years of experience
- You have 5+ years of experience working in biostatistics and clinical trials at a pharma or biotech company
- You have 5+ years of experience building and managing teams of statisticians working on clinical trials
- You have substantial knowledge of and experience with various clinical trial designs and execution
- You have a keen interest in the development of the broader product strategy and have contributed to clinical development plans for molecules
- You are an effective communicator, both oral and written
- You are self-motivated and flexible, thrive in highly uncertain situations, and enjoy coming up with elegant and innovative solutions to challenging problems
- You are passionate about our mission to improve healthcare through technology
- You are a highly-effective collaborator and are motivated by the opportunity to work with oncologists, software engineers, product managers, and other members of the Flatiron team
